Uruguay to host first South American beach games

For the first time in the history of the region, a tournament specializing in beach sports will be held.

The 2009 South American Beach Games will be hosted by Uruguay after being chosen among other candidates to host the said event. The Games will include soccer, volleyball, handball, surfing, swimming, and rowing.
