According the Uruguay's "Espectador" Newspaper students have been carrying brass knuckles, pepper spray, knives and even guns in to school.
High school teachers, who are on strike today, have said they feel helpless in the situations they face. One teacher from High School 16 in Carrasco Norte recently found a group of students playing Russian roulette in her gym class.
Teachers are claiming that the Board Of Secondary Education is manipulating teachers and principals in to not discussing this issue so as "not to make waves" during the tentative election period.
