President Vazquez visits Cuba

For the first time since he was sworn as President of Uruguay, President Tabare Vazquez visited Cuba for a state visit. He was welcomed by no other than Cuban President Raul Castro.

Diplomatic relations have come back between the two countries right after Vazquez was sworn in. From then on, the relationship between the two countries has prospered.
