Spanish paper manufacturer and power utility company Ence recently sold its Uruguayan assets to Swedish-Finnish paper maker Stora Enso and Chilean pulp producer Celulosa Arauco y Constitucionl for US$340 million.
Among the properties sold in the transaction are 140,000 hectares of forest land and Ence's Punta Pereira pulp mill project.
The company sold its Uruguayan operations to strengthen its balance sheet and expand its biomass renewable energy business in Spain.
