Features of the new Carrasco International Airport.

The Carrasco International Airport is already operational since the 9th of December last year as a replacement for the terminal building which is parallel to runways 06/24.
It was designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects. This new structure is expected to accommodate the rising numbers of passenger going in and out of Uruguay.
The 42,719 square meters floor area (within five floor level including basement, arrival, level, mezzanine, departures levels and terrace) of the CIA could give service to about 3 million passengers. This is the largest airport in the country to serve in capital city - Montevideo located 5km away, northwest of Ciudad de la Costa.
