Uruguay's main port is known for its low cost, reliability, high productivity and now was under test by the Hamburg Sud largest container "Rio de la Plata". The 286 meters vessel successful dock in Montevideo was a proof of the port have sufficient space capacity and handling facilities for vessels. According to the Uruguayan authorities, the more containers there are in the port, the lower the cost per unit and the port becomes more attractive. Refer on the link below for the whole article.
