The rising international fuel prices really hit Uruguay's economy this time, as consumer prices increased by 0.87%, way above the Central Bank's projection of the 0.7%.
If there is one reason for this rise, it's because of the lengthened drought that severely affected Uruguay's geothermal energy production, making it highly reliant on imports and the high prices of fuel.
