Standard and Poor's ratings expects the transition to be smooth after the presidential election

We never know what to expect but one can still always guess, I believe. Standard and Poor's rating service said that it would expect only a smooth transition which would take place regardless of who was to win the October, Uruguayan presidential elections, on Monday.

Prison Fire Kills Five

A fire in a jail just outside Montevideo had killed five inmates. According to prison system commissioner Alvaro Garce, the fire took place after inmates set fire on their own mattresses and the fire started in the cell of those who died.

An opposition hopeful was forecasted by an independent pollster as the next Uruguayan President. Luis Alberto Lacalle, the candidate for the opposition party "Nacional", may very well be the next president of Uruguay. This is all according to the independent pollster, MPC.
