Latin America has taken a left turn through its recent elections. This trend can be a threat to the real estate market. The One Laptop Per Child project includes getting $150 computers into the hands of students in Thailand, Libya and other developing countries in 2007. The computer, called the XO machine, will more than likely be the first computer most of these students have ever seen. Therefore, it will be more intuitive for the children. By July or thereabouts, several million XO machines should reach Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Nigeria, Libya, Pakistan, Thailand and the Palestinian territory. Within the next two weeks three more African countries could sign on for computers.Original source: Nashua Telegraph. The World Court, which used to be called the International Court of Justice and is the highest court of the United Nations, has declined Uruguay's request to remove Argentina's blockade's on key roads. Argentina built the blockades in protest against Uruguay's plan for building two pulp mills on the Uruguay River, which borders the two countries. Although Uruguay asked for an interim ruling, the court still voted 14-1 against Uruguay because it didn't believe the blockades posed sufficient harm despite Uruguay's claims.Original source: HULIQ. Buquebus has been having difficulties lately. It's a time of seasonal tourist change right now in Uruguay and the rules about traveling with minors have changed. The larger number of travelers is combined with fewer vessels sailing, because the ferries are old and in some need of repair. So, although Buquebus has strong political ties and in essence has a monopoly on the ferry business, as complaints increase changes may have to be made.Original source: Mercopress.
