Uruguay Target Single Digit Inflation on 2008

Uruguay's Statistics Office's released that consumer prices increased 0.6% accumulating 7.63% in past nine month making the 7% target more becoming a reality.

This is the effect of Economy minister, Alvaro Garcia's main mission to end 2008 with a single digit inflation by avoiding re-negotiation of labor contract and pensions that would make a great impact to the treasury.

If the economic weather in Uruguay continues like this even with the global turmoil, 2008 might be ended with a single digit inflation rate according to local economist and market analyst.
