Asserting Their Rights Is A Problem for Uruguayan Domestic Workers
06/14/09 09:24
Uruguayan domestic workers celebrated the day when the law that asserts their rights was passed. This ensured that they will be able to work in good conditions, with benefits that are guaranteed by the law.
Sadly, this is not always the case inside the households. Cases have been recorded wherein the domestic helpers were treated rudely and accused of stealing when they asserted their rights. What's more depressing is that this is already a common situation in the country.

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 8894
